I finally got a blog
I finally set up a blog.
I’m at the library. The library is not the quiet place it used to be.
Years ago, when cell phones started to become commonplace, they used to be more proactive about telling people to silence their cell phones in the library.
Nowadays, I hear a lot more cell phones in the library than I used to, and less often are library employees telling people to turn them off.
Talking and headphones playing music loud are tolerated. So is loud talking.
The library has also become a kind of day time homeless shelter for people who would otherwise roam the streets all day. There’s nothing wrong with homeless people. It’s just that they aren’t coming to the library to research, read books, or do anything intelligent.
Instead, they come to the library and goof off, or use the computers to read Facebook. They’re loud and obnoxious, and many smell bad.
The library is not what it used to be.
